To stimulate creative pedagogy statewide, Maharashtra’s SCERT has rolled out Rangotsav, a competition among government schools from classes 3 to 8, that asks participants to showcase innovative learning techniques via short videos. The Times of India Every school must submit an 8–10 minute video centered on one of four themes: arts, sports, toy‑based learning, or storytelling. The Times of India The deadline for submissions is September 30, 2025.

One school in Raigad, for example, used hopscotch to teach fractions and geometry—turning abstract mathematics into playful movement. The Times of India Winning teams (top 24) will be invited to present their techniques at SCERT’s Pune campus. The Times of India

Officials say Rangotsav is more than a contest—it’s designed to push experiential and project‑based learning into everyday classrooms. By tapping student creativity and local context, the competition hopes to bridge curriculum goals with learner engagement. Judges from District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) and local education administrators will evaluate submissions. The Times of India

Educators welcome the push: many rural and resource-constrained schools often struggle to break free of rote models. Initiatives like Rangotsav, they say, can spur “micro‑innovation” at grassroots levels. But scaling good ideas will require follow-through: training, resource support, and opportunities for replication beyond the contest.
