The mechanical engineering students of Mahatma Gandhi Mission’s College of Engineering and Technology entered the competition with a single-seater student formula race car prepared as per the rules laid out by Supra SAEIndia, which has been conducting this competition for the last eight years.

Team MGM Accellors stated, “We have been participating in this prestigious competition since 2014. To work on such a project, it’s very important to have a good team. We have divided ourselves into various teams — steering, suspension, transmission, design, brake, and marketing. After meeting so many teams of different colleges and seeing their designs, we got to know where we stand. It was a learning experience. The jury was impressed by the design of the chassis, brake pedal, intake manifold, and the cost report. If our next car turns out the way we are expecting it to be, we may send an entry for a similar competition in Germany.”

“Our team MGM Accellors were able to reap the benefits of all expenses covered sponsorship for Supra SAEIndia 2019 due to the noteworthy contribution of MGMCET apart from external sponsorship. The contribution by our MGMCET family and our generous sponsors has been unparalleled and we can’t thank them enough for being there in our thick and thin times. Our students have survived the turbulent times through their never-ending efforts to make this contest the best one so far by bringing laurels. And this is just the beginning,” said Prof Nilesh Bodkhe.
