Are you using the right teaching method?

In the current worldwide scenario, online courses are more important than ever. But choosing the correct method of online teaching is the most important thing.
Just to clarity, I have set out the difference between the methods below:
- Standalone Course method :
In this method, Students work through on their own with the online content through mobile or computers. There is no tutor interaction. They have FAQ’s on the platform to answer their questions.
In these types of courses, students can learn at their own time convenience. In the rural part of India, students will not miss out on their lectures due to a Power cut or connectivity problems as they can access the content later at any time as per their convenience.
Students can access the content multiple times. It will help them to revise the content and clarify their doubts.
Disadvantages :
This method is not having any tutor interaction. So it can be difficult for the children to clarify their doubts.
Similarly, it is not suitable for primary children as the teacher’s intervention is necessary.

Today this method is implemented by applications like Byju’s, Navneet, etc.,
2. Taught
In this method, all sessions are tutored. teachers take 30 min – 40 min lectures of live teaching. This may be over 5 or 6 Days in the week.
This method is being commonly used by the teachers as it is similar to the conventional method of teaching.
Here teacher intervention can help in understanding concepts more easily. Students can interact with teachers for difficulties and problems.
Disadvantages:
In many reasons of India, Students may miss the live lectures due to Power failure, Loss of Connectivity at the time of lectures.
Similarly creating a Classroom atmosphere in the live session is not possible. this method is getting widely used in the pandemic period through Zoom or Google meet live lectures.
3. Self-Guided Courses.
Self Guided Courses are a mixture of Standalone and Taught. Here, Students work through on their own but there are tutored sessions. Once a week there are group sessions for an hour with a tutor and the students submit assignments to the tutor who will mark them and give them personalized feedback. But most of the work is done independently.
It covers the benefits of both methods. This is the most ideal method for the Indian population.
Many schools and colleges are using this method with the Learning Management system
Learning Management System is a complete package of Course Creation, Course delivery, course monitoring, online assignments, online examination, MCQ test, Gradings, student profiling also comes inbuilt with online fees, online admission, online attendance, and customization.
Schools or colleges can contact the author to discuss implementing a suitable Model in their institution
