At the 13th Avishkar Research Convention organized by the University of Mumbai on 29 December 2018, MGMCET secured first place under UG level for a project entitled “Design and Development of Drones for Crop Health and Soil Quality Monitoring.” Furthermore, Mechanical Engineering final-year student Sagar Ovhalkar won the prestigious Maharashtra State Award “Shiv Chatrapati Rajya Krida Purskar” in sports-Mallakhamb.

MGM’s College of Engineering and Technology (MGMCET) is governed by Mahatma Gandhi Mission, a Charitable Trust.
In addition to nine undergraduate programs and five postgraduate programs, the College offers Phd in Bio-Medical Engineering. MGMCET is ISO-9001-2000 and ISO 9001:2015 certified.

By using major ways to reach out the industries, MGMCET takes the lead in inviting industry professionals as resource persons to interact with the students by using major ways to reach out to the industries.

Resource persons have been organized Special Training Programmes (Internet of Things, Big Data Analyst, etc) for the students who all are utilizing services.

College provides 26 club activities in which students are interested  which deal with Innovation and Creativity, Entrepreneurship, Environment, Foreign Language, Yoga to name a few “Industry-Reality” and students’ projects every semester helps students get placement that they love.Eminent Personalities such as Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Prof. Nihal Kulratna (Univ of waiokato, New Zealand), Dr. Vijay Kumar Mishra(IISc Banglore), and others attended college.

MGMCET organizes National Conferences on relevant and important themes. During June 2018 , two National Conference on Challenges in “Engineering Teaching and Research” and “Human Value in Professional Education” were organized National Conference on “Industry 4.0” in collaboration with IEEE and CSI during June 2019, is being organized.
