Increase in Number of Examination Centers

Maharashra State Board has announced to conduct Board Exams of Class 10th and Class 12th offline in the month of March-April. Also Maharashtra State Board has directed that every school and jr college will have examination center. Therefore the number of examination centers will increase by 4 times as compared to last year.
Board Examination of class 12th will be conducted from 4th March to 30th March and Board Examination for class 10th will be held from 15th March to 4th April. The exam will be conducted offline only.
Till date more than 14.72 lakh students have filled HSC Examination form and more than 16.25 lakh students have filled SSC Examination form. The number is expected to increase as the last date for submission is yet to arrive.
On account of COVID-19 situation, thermal scanning will be conducted for all the students arriving at examination center. The student traffic will be controlled will coming in and going out of the center. Hence, students are instructed to be present 1 hour prior to the examination timing to facilitate smooth functioning.
To avoid COVID-19 spread, every examination center will be having 25 students only. Students seating arrangement will be in ziczac method only. There will be approximately 21341 exam centers for SSC and 9613 exam centers for HSC
If some students are unable to attend the practical or theory examination due to COVID-19 infection, there is provision of appearing for supplementary examination
Why Offline Exam?
Maharashtra State Board conducts examination of total 158 subjects for HSC which requires to prepare 365 question paper sets. These includes long answers, short answers, brief answers, objective questions etc. Similarly these examinations are conducted in multiple languages. Hence it is difficult to conduct such exams online.
