R Ward West Announces Dates and Theme for 53rd Annual Science Exhibition

BORIVALI, MUMBAI: The R Ward West (R Paschim Vibhag) Education Department has finalized its plans to host the 53rd State-Level Bal Vaigyanik Science Exhibition for the 2025-2026 academic year. The three-day exhibition will take place from Tuesday, December 3rd, to Thursday, December 5th, 2025, at Exar Road, Shanti Ashram, Borivali West.


Schools and junior colleges in the R Ward West area are encouraged to participate in the event.

Focus on Self-Reliance and Development
The core theme for this year’s exhibition, as mandated by the state-level guidelines, is "STEM for Viksit and Atmanirbhar Bharat" (STEM for Developed and Self-Reliant India).

Student projects must align with one of the following seven sub-themes, focusing on practical and innovative solutions:

Sustainable Agriculture.

Waste Management and Alternatives to Plastic.

Green Energy.

Emerging Technology.

Recreational Mathematical Modeling.

Health and Hygiene.

Water Conservation & Management.

Key Deadlines and Schedule
School administrators and teachers must adhere to the following critical dates for participation:


Entry Form Deadline: Tuesday, November 25th, 2025.


Participation Fee: A contribution of ₹4,000 must be submitted by November 17th, 2025.


Project Setup: Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.


Inauguration: Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025, at 8:30 AM.


Project Evaluation: Thursday, December 4th, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM.


Prize Distribution: The Science Project Awards ceremony will be held on December 5th, 2025, from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

Participation Rules
Each school is permitted a maximum of five entries in total. This includes:

One student project for the Upper Primary (Grades 6-8) level.

One student project for the Secondary/Higher Secondary (Grades 9-12) level.

Entries for Teaching Aids and Scientific Equipment Demonstrations (for teachers and lab assistants).

Organizers have set strict standards for judging projects, which will be scored out of 100 marks. The top scoring criteria include:

Student's Creativity and Imagination: 20 Marks.

Originality and Scientific/Mathematical Innovation: 15 Marks.

Utility for Society and Scalability: 15 Marks.

Exhibits must be submitted using a separate Entry Form for each project and cannot exceed the dimensions of 122 cm x 76 cm x 274 cm. Furthermore, only two students are allowed at the exhibition site at any given time to explain the project to the evaluators.
