CAT exam 2022 - On 27th November 2022

Are you prepared for CAT?
It is a computer-based which aims at testing the candidates on five main topics namely, quantitative ability (QA), data interpretation (DI), logical reasoning (LR), verbal ability (VA) and Reading Comprehension (RC). These five categories are divided into three sections as QA, DILR and VARC which is included in the CAT exam Pattern. Here, some of the best tips to prepare for CAT exam are given which can help the candidates to understand how to prepare for CAT exam and succeed in it easily.

Brief on CAT 2022
CAT 2022 will be conducted on November 27, 2022 (Sunday) in three sessions. The duration of the test will be 120 minutes. There will be three sections in each slot:

Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
Section III: Quantitative Ability
In each section, candidates will be allotted exactly 40 minutes for answering questions (53 minutes and 20 seconds for PwD Candidates). Once you press the submit button for any section or you complete a 40 minute time slot for the section, you will not be allowed to access the section. Even from one section to another while answering questions in a section. You have to attempt each of these sections in a specific order and in the same order as is given.

THE SCORING SCHEME

CAT 2022 will have both MCQs and Non-MCQs. Both types are of 3 marks each but Non-MCQ type will not have any negative marking. The scoring scheme for Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) is as follows:

Each correct answer is awarded 3 marks
For An incorrect answer -1
No marks are awarded or deducted for un-attempted questions.
It is very important to note that CAT has a good number of Non-MCQs (known as TITA) questions which you have to answer on your own (options will not be provided to choose from).

About 25 percent to 30 percent of total questions are likely to be TITA question types that are without negative marking. An answer must be typed in the given space on the computer screen for Non-MCQ. I must advise you don't miss any of the non-MCQ, as there is no negative marking on it.
