National Council of Education Research and Training books will be introduced for class first to third in the initial stage for 2023-24.There after for fourth and fifth grade the NCERT syllabus will initiate from 2024-25, according to Vijay Kiran Anand the Director general, School Education, U.P. About 75 lakh students of 1
st
to 3
rd
grade will benefit from this revised syllabus. A detailed proposal has been sent to the Government for the same. The proposal was initiated in 2018 and was to be implemented in 2021-22 academic Session, which got delayed due to the outbreak of Covid-19. The proposal is divided in three phases, starting from 1
st
to 3
rd
standard next being 4
th
and 5
th
class and lastly 6
th
to 8
th
standard. The department will also carry out teachers training for which workbook modules are already designed. It is necessary for teachers to undergo the training as the NCERT books are little different from SCERT books. Basically, the change occurred to keep Indian students well rounded and at par for the competitive exams after 12
th
