Around 2.4 lakh aspirants registered on Mumbai University's portal for degree college admissions till Saturday - the last day for form submissions. These numbers do not include students from the CBSE and ISC schools, as their class XII results are still awaited. This is the first time that the admissions to degree colleges in the city have started without CBSE and ISC students. As per the university's schedule, the first merit list in university's affiliated colleges will be out on June 29. Some college principals have raised concerns over the admission season being chaotic with the university firm on its decision to go ahead with the schedule without CBSE and ISC results. As some of the sought-after autonomous colleges are holding entrance tests for their self-financed courses, they will not be able to release their merit list on June 29. The university usually sees registrations from around 2.5 to to 2.8 lakh students every year. Last year, more class XII s students were eligible for admissions, as board exams were eligible for admissions, as board exams were cancelled, and students were evaluated on the basis of internal marks.
