Under the Right to Education Act (RTE), the maximum age limit for 25% free admission to deprived and weak sections has increased to 7 years-2 months-29 days. Under RTE Act, 25% seats are reserved for poor and deprived children for class 1st and Jr Kg. The Last Date to apply for this admission was on March 22nd. It has now been extended by March 30th. It is mandatory to keep 25 % reservation in schools of aided category, non-aided category English and Marathi Medium across the state. The process of filing an online application for this admission started on March 5th. To attend this admission process, the child's age limit is at least 6 years and the maximum age is 6 years and 11 months is 29 days. Parents were demanding to increase this. According to this demand, the age limit has been increased to 7 years-2 months-29 days.
