Students Ask PM to Cancel Exams, Trend #Modiji_cancel12thboards
While the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) had last month cancelled the class 10 exams, it is yet to take a final decision on the class 12 exams. A large section of students have taken to the microblogging site, Twitter, and have started trends using hashtags #modiji_cancel12thboards and #CancelExamsSaveStudents.

Petition Filed In Supreme Court Seeking Cancellation Of CBSE 12th Board Exams 2021:
Advocate Mamta Sharma has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of CBSE 12th board exams 2021 & ISC 12th board exams 2021. According to the plea, conducting online or offline ISC & CBSE 12th board exams is not possible due to the surge of COVID-19 cases. Also, a delay in announcing the result might affect students who are seeking admission to foreign universities. The boards should declare the result within a timeframe based on ‘objective methodology’.

Parents’ Association to PM Narendra Modi
The Parents’ Association has written a letter to PM Narendra Modi.
The letter reads, “Many students and parents from across India are worried about the upcoming 12th Board Exams 2021 in physical mode due to the alarming rate of growth of COVID 19 cases and deaths during the second wave.”

It further reads, “It is going to have an immense negative impact on the mental health of students. Also, there is a chance that their entire year will be wasted. Students are studying in Class 12 for more than one and half years now. It is high time government gives them attention and takes decision immediately without any further delay.”

India Wide Parents Association suggested that the students be evaluated based on their past performance, and colleges can have an aptitude test if required. Reiterating the once in a lifetime situation, the association has asked PMO to intervene and cancel all board examinations in the country to safeguard students and their families in turn.
