Samavesh- the Mini Marathon by NES

Samavesh- the Mini Marathon ( 3.5 Km) was organised by the Alumni Association of NES Ratnam College of Arts, Science & Commerce on Sunday, 2nd February 2020 in support of specially abled children.

The marathon was flagged off sharp at 6 am from NES International School Ground ,Swapna Nagari, Mulund- West by the Director of the NES- SVB Group Dr. V. Balasubramaniam and concluded at 8 am with prize distribution .

510 current students, alumni members, faculty and non teaching staff ran for inclusiveness to support specially abled children from Purva Foundation, Ummeed Foundation and NES Deaf School. A cheque of Rs. 33,333 was given to each of these institutions .

Mr. Sushant Pujari of NES Junior College bearing chest no. 491 clocked the 3.5 km stretch in 13 min to emerge as the winner in the male category and Ms. Nirmala Mudaliar of NES Ratnam College bearing chest bo. 282 clocked it in 19 min to emerge as the fastest female runner. The winners were given a trophy,medal and certificate and all those who completed the race were given a medal and certificate.

The specially abled children from the three institutes were also present and they too participated by running around the ground.

Principal Dr. Mary Vimochana, Vice Princpal Dr. Vinita Dhulia, Past President of Alumni Association Mr. Shakti Kannan and Past Vice President Mr. Kishore Mundra joined in the prize distribution. Samavesh- truly sent a fragrance of inclusiveness in the air of Mulund on 2nd Feb.
