Education Minister suggests providing digital devices for secondary school students

“The State Education Secretaries Meeting was held to review the #COVID situation, online education, and work around NEP.” The Ministry of Education in the Twitter handle said.

It further said ” Education is the top priority and as instructed by the Government of India, a COVID action plan to ensure uninterrupted education is required.”

In this virtual meeting, the Education Minister, Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal, reviewed the COVID-19 situation in the states, status of online education and how the students are continuing their classes despite the challenges during the pandemic, and work around National Education Policy (NEP).

The Education Ministor has suggested that all secondary school students should be provided with digital devices for online education as the schools and educational institutes remain closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

He further suggested the use of Bharat Net to connect all the schools for smoother communication.

He also suggested the use of the Manodarpan platform to keep a check on the mental health and well-being of teachers during this pandemic.
