The Internet and e-commerce allow fashion designers to offer their products outside of traditional brick-and-mortar stores. These designers can ship directly to the consumer, without having to invest in a physical shop to showcase their product lines.

The following are examples of types of fashion designers:

Clothing designers: create and help produce men’s, women’s, and children’s apparel, including casual wear, suits, sportswear, evening wear, outerwear, maternity clothing etc

They also must stay within the costume budget for the particular production.

Fashion designers occasionally work many hours to meet production deadlines or prepare for fashion shows. Designers who freelance generally work under a contract and tend to work longer hours and adjust their workday to their clients’ schedules and deadlines.

How to Become a Fashion Designer

Fashion Designer Salaries
  • Design Assistant : The individual working in this position must start from a low pay package. Normally their yearly package is between 15,000   to 25,000+ per month.
  • Junior Designer- This is a fashion designer’s position comes in the middle level. The pay package is approximately 25,000 to 40,000+ per month. The junior fashion designers salary is vital to find out.
  • Creative Director- This is probably the highest position in this field. Thus, the pay package will be pretty good. The range of salary stays between 50,000 to 1,00,000+. This may also rise further.
