After implementation of “No Homework and school bags for Class I and II” in CBSE School, HRD Minister has instructed to states and union territory not to give homework for class 1st and 2nd

The High Court had asked the state governments and Union Territories to reduce weight of the satchels of school children and do away with homework for classes I and II

Accordingly HRD Ministry instructed the State and Union Territory schools “to put regulation on teachers not to give homework for class 1 and 2.

Also HRD Ministry has instructed not to teach subjects other than Language and Mathematics for Std 1st and 2nd and Language, EVS and Mathematics for std 3rd to 5th

To reduce school bag weight Ministry has prescribed the limits. The weights should not exceed 1.5kg for std 1st and 2nd, 2kg to 3kg for std 3rd to 5th, 4kg for 6th and 7th, 4.5kg for 8th and 9th and 5kg for 10th.

Students should not bring extra material or books.
